Position Type: Full Time - 6 months Fixed Term

Salary Range: $45,000 - $55,000 plus super

Purpose of the position:

  • works in accordance with standard operating procedures and established criteria

  • works under direct supervision either individually or in a team environment
  • understands and undertakes basic quality control/assurance procedures including the ability to recognise basic quality deviations/faults
  • understands and utilises basic statistical process control procedures
  • follows safe work practices and can report workplace hazards.


Qualifications:

  • AQF Certificate I, or compulsory secondary education 

 

 Experience:

  • Minimum of 1-year experience in automation or manufacturing industry preferred but not essential.
  • Experience in workshop machine operations (Manual or CNC) not required but desirable
  • Previous experience with welding and cutting machine operation is highly beneficial
 

ESSENTIAL SKILLS AND ATTRIBUTES:

Machine assembly, testing, commissioning and installation

  • studying drawings and specifications to determine suitable material, method and sequence of operations, and machine settings
  • fitting fabricated metal parts into products and assembling metal parts and subassemblies to produce machines and equipment
  • forming metal stock and castings to fine tolerances using machining tools to press, cut, grind, plane, bore and drill metal
  • cutting, threading, bending and installing hydraulic and pneumatic pipes and lines
  • may erect machines and equipment on-site

  • Proven ability to work independently and with others in a vibrant, team-orientated environment
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and experience, with the ability to accurately and effectively convey information to clients at all levels
  • Demonstrated interpersonal skills with the ability to manage and build relationships cross-culturally and at all levels, and rapidly establish rapport with internal and external stakeholders
  • Self-motivated with a proactive and innovative approach to problem-solving
  • Proven ability to work in a fast-paced environment and the ability to prioritise workloads with competing demands
  • Strong work ethic with prioritisation, time-management and deadline achievement skills
  • Willingness and ability to adapt to a constantly changing work environment including technological changes
  • Be able to work with minimal supervision.

  

DESIRABLE SKILLS AND ATTRIBUTES:

  • A current Australian Driver’s License
  • Forklift or EWP licence
  • First Aid Certificate
  • White Card
